Week by Week

It dawned on me that while I’ve been pretty consistent in taking Landon’s monthly picture on the 28th of each month, it would have been nice to have a week by week picture of him. And then I thought, well surely I’ve taken at least one picture a week since he was born. So I went through my phone, got them all organized, and posted here. Now to keep up for the rest of the year until he reaches his first birthday.

Busy days!

It’s been a busy couple months! I’m back at work, Grace is in her final stretch of second grade, Ava is turning into a young lady and not so toddler anymore, and Landon is growing like crazy, adjusting to life and all his new babysitters! Life is good!

Landon

Boy oh boy…it has been way too long since I’ve posted! Our family grew by one last September, and I have lagged on introducing him. So, here is our newest member of the Grubb crew. We just love him to pieces.

Catching Up

It’s been a busy few months for us. Here are some photos to catch you up on what’s been going on this spring and beginning of summer.

We had a fun spring break trip to Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay Aquarium in April.

Grace wrapped up her 1st grade year, how is it possible that she will be a 2nd grader? She has started taking piano lessons as well. We just celebrated her 7th Birthday.  Gulp.

Ava is busy enjoying preschool and growing like a weed! My soon to be 3 year old is a little firecracker!

Both girls also started swim lessons this summer.

Party of Five

I’m a little behind with this big announcement, but our family is growing by two little feet this September! The girls will be so excited to have a little brother. I am somewhat nervous about being outnumbered, but this being our third one, I think we are ready. Stay tuned…

“I Missed You”

Those. 3. Words. Almost as good as I Love You. And even better when they come from a two year old.

Of course I love that Ava is talking now, so she can tell us what she needs/wants. But the best part is when the words she says are ones where you can tell she is learning to love through what she hears frequently from us. Today, I got my first “I missed you” from this little love. She got into bed with me early this morning (after not sleeping with me last night), and wrapped her arms around my neck and said “I missed you”. It was so sweet and totally made it even more difficult to get out of bed, as I just wanted to cuddle all the cuteness that is my sweet Ava. So here is a throwback of one of my favorite pictures of this little angel. Love you baby!

New Year, New Site!

2016!!! Wait, what? How is this possible? Well, we all know time moves way too fast. The days, weeks, months, and years seem to multiply in an instant. I do my best to keep up most days, but, let’s be honest, life isn’t slowing down any time soon.

For the last six  years, I have worked outside of the home while raising my two girls, Grace and Ava, with my husband Jacob. That doesn’t leave a ton of time to stop and smell the roses. Life is busy, WE are busy! But I don’t want life to speed by without allowing myself to pause, reflect, and give thanks. It is my hope that this blog will allow me to do that.

There aren’t many things that I am crazy in love with. Except my family, and well, an old love that I’ve sort of forgotten about. Writing. I did a lot of it in high school and college. Most of it was hurried and in an environment of meeting deadlines and academic topics. However, I always enjoyed the process of sitting down with an idea, an opinion, a problem, etc., and formulating my thoughts and research onto a keyboard, hoping to create some meaning.

My goal with this blog is to chronicle the moments that seem to quickly pass us by, thus providing my children with a keepsake of memories, all while allowing Mommy to get back in touch with her writing side.

Welcome!
